There are so many organized events that it would be impossible for us to keep updated the list of regattas, fairs, carnivals, concerts, shows and so on which are happening all year round.

THE TORCH HAND OVER ‘ KISS ‘ IN TOTLAND 14th JULY 2012
The most internationally famous event is the annual Cowes Week Regatta.
Another annual event is The Old Gaffers yachting event in Yarmouth. This year it is being held over the weekend of 31st May to 2nd June 2013. Details from www.yarmoutholdgaffersfestival.co.uk
Very popular with locals and people from the mainland is The Isle of Wight Walking Festival, which this year takes place between the 4th to the 19th May, details from www.isleofwightwalkingfestival.co.uk
The Isle of Wight Hospice will be holding their annual, sponsored Walk The Wight, this year it will be held on Sunday 12th May. details from www.iwhospice.org This was a very succesful event with over 10,500 people taking part and the weather was very kind to the walkers this year.
The most useful source of planned events information is The Isle Of Wight County Press – our weekly local newspaper. Their listings are clearly presented and very comprehensive.
The Island is covered by various radio stations. The most dedicated one is, of course, the award winning commercial station Isle of Wight Radio (107 FM).
BBC Radio Solent (96.1FM) offers good local information coverage, traffic reports and news. Power FM (103.2) is a great music station and Wave (105FM) has lighter pop music – great fun and easy listening!
Stoats Farm successfully hosted the BUSA Mountain Bike Championships in March 1999 and ‘The Boring Old Fartz’ invasion from 1999-2012.
